Zwijsen has been an established name in the Dutch educational landscape for decades, known for their teaching methods, learning materials and educational publications. In order to take their digital channels to the next level, My Tech Partner was called in for a series of technical and functional improvements to Zwijsen’s website and webshop. The focus was on scalability, user-friendliness and empowering the internal marketing and sales departments.

About Zwijsen

Zwijsen Publishing has been a leading publisher in primary education for 175 years. With carefully developed teaching methods, educational publications and products for home, Zwijsen enables every child to learn with motivation and to get the best out of themselves. In this way, children are stimulated and enthused in their discovery of the world both at school and at home.

In addition, the existing frontend code was thoroughly refactored. Outdated structures made way for modular, easy-to-maintain code, resulting in faster loading times and better scalability.

From design to functional frontend

Zwijsen provided detailed Figma designs, which we translated pixel-perfectly into functional frontend components within WordPress. These new components seamlessly connect to the existing style and ensure a consistent user experience on all devices.

In addition, the existing frontend code was thoroughly refactored. Outdated structures made way for modular, easy-to-maintain code, resulting in faster loading times and better scalability.

Gutenberg as a powerful CMS for marketing & sales

An important part of the project was improving content management. We developed new Gutenberg components that allow Zwijsen's marketing and sales departments to easily build, edit and extend pages without being dependent on developers.

In addition to building new blocks, existing blocks were also expanded with additional options, such as conditions, CTA integrations, and advanced layout capabilities. Everything was designed with usability, flexibility, and brand consistency in mind.

WooCommerce and ACF integration

The webshop runs on WooCommerce and is fully integrated with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields). This allows products, teaching methods and associated content to be easily managed via a clear CMS. All blocks have been made compatible with dynamic content, so that updates can be implemented quickly and without errors.

Training and transfer

In order for the Zwijsen teams to make optimal use of the new possibilities, we provided a practical training in which we explained the operation of the new blocks, the CMS and other functionalities step by step. As a result, the internal team is now fully independently capable of setting up and adjusting landing pages, product pages and campaigns.
